About the Photographer
Hi! I’m Jen, owner of Westchase Photo Studio + Wild Muse Boudoir.
I’ve worked in the photography industry almost my entire career. I started as an intern in the Photography Department at Rolling Stone Magazine in NYC. Shortly after, I moved to Los Angeles and worked for a celebrity photographer as his Producer and Studio Manager. My first set visit included me having to stand-in for Blake Lively….it was wild! More than two years and hundreds of shoots later, I moved on to a production company where I continued working with some of the world’s most famous photographers, movie/tv studios, fashion brands and magazines. After ten years in LA, I moved to Tampa to be closer to family. Now, I love being the one to actually create the artwork and beautiful memories for my clients. It’s truly a dream come true to be a full-time artist.
All-time favorite career moments as a photographer: When my clients cry after seeing their photos! I’ll be honest, I had no idea how powerful photography could be when I started. But it can truly change the way you see yourself. Whether you want to feel beautiful, powerful or connected to loved ones….photography can change the way you think about your life and yourself.
Favorite shoot as a Producer in LA: How I Met Your Mother. Neil Patrick Harris danced to my playlist. Jason Segel flirted with me. The entire cast could not have been cooler. It was seriously a fun day!
Favorite celebrity I was on set with: Betty White. She. is. a. potty. mouth. She had everyone laughing during the entire shoot! I’ve always been a fan of Golden Girls so it was a dream to meet her.
Best thing about starting this venture: Truly feeling like I’m using my natural-born gifts in this lifetime. Making a positive impact on this world.
Favorite thing about being a photographer: I might be giving away a secret here, but my favorite part of being a photographer isn’t just about creating beautiful images—it’s the connection I get to build with my clients. Whether I’m photographing an individual or a family, I get a rare and intimate glimpse into their world.
Most people don’t feel completely at ease in front of a camera. Even the most powerful, confident individuals often become a little shy when I lift the lens. That vulnerability is something I don’t take lightly. It’s an incredible thing to watch someone slowly relax, begin to trust me, and let their true self shine through. One of the compliments I hear most often is, “You made me feel so comfortable.” And that means everything to me—because stepping in front of a camera truly is a vulnerable act.
During a session, there are no distractions. You’re not checking your phone or rushing to the next thing. We’re simply present—with each other, in the moment. We connect. And it’s really something special.
I can honestly say that I’ve seen beauty in every single person I’ve ever photographed. That, to me, is the greatest privilege of being a photographer.
